Design for scarf edging
I am currently reading The Art of Embroidery by Francoise Tellier Loumagne. This book is full of beautiful photography featuring nature, from leaves, landscapes, the sea to compost. It is full of ideas, and inspiration. I like the way that it takes an image and recreates it in embroidery in several ways. This photo i took was inspired by the book.

Machine stitched lace in black cotton. It is finished with velvet ribbon and beads dangling on thread. This piece could be made into a choker or be used as a shoulder or even neckline detail on a piece of clothing.
This embroidery is inspired by a piece I saw at the Knitting and Stitching Show. The textile designer who inspired me was Laura-Jane Sparks. Her work is delicate, imaginative and original.
